Emergency Power Backup – Remote Access [ EAR ] – DUAL MODE SCREEN


 

Problem solved/addressed by your proposed invention

  This is a concept to get the necessary contact information or message or any file while your phone is about to switch off due out power dry up. There is no way to get the power point of charge.

 Why do you feel that the problem being addressed in your invention is not solved by the existing art/prior art(s)?

In this field of invention with the existing prior art one can connect the mobile phone to a Laptop or such type to device to extract the information through any communication medium.

Background of your Invention

But if any such high end device is not found near by than what to do? In that case my concept is address to this problem with mobile phones emergency battery backup. This will only useful when the main battery power supply amount has decreased to a certain minimum power level. Till that time this backup battery restricted to in use. Once the main power supply to the phone gone out, than the phone will shut down and will ask the user to make the phone is emergency supply mode.

 Key-features of the Invention 

a.      One can access the valuable contact information/ message/ files during emergency time with or without any high end device like laptop or any advanced device.

[Q] 1> I did not get what is Segment LCD and what it displays. In Mobile (flip type),  2 displays

1) Main big display and

2) Top smaller display.

Ans: It is nothing but a monochrome display without any color resolution screen support.  This monochrome screen

can be a part of Main colored screen or

can be separated one.

Main idea is to minimize the power consumption due to display unit.

 [Q] 2> Will your idea work in available mobiles with 2 screens or not. If not, please add more details

Ans: If it is a separate monochrome display unit than size should be small ( as top smaller display).

      OR

It can be a part of main screen display which will active in monochrome mode in smaller size(part of the screen).



Description of diagram:

In Figure 1: same phone is powered in two modes. One is in normal mode which has full feature functionality enabled. And other mode is minimal mode or energy saving mode.

In Figure 2: Phone A is started in energy saving mode and it is being accessed by Phone B remotely for few necessary information.

 In Figure 3: Protocol communication between Phone A with Phone B for necessary information sharing.

Detailed Description of the Invention

User has a modern high end mobile device. He is in bus (without any battery charging facility) or in travelled to an isolated place like jungle. Don’t have any medium for power re-charge. The mobile battery goes down due to long use of media (song/video) play or conversation. Suddenly he recalled that he has to make a call to doctor and read some message or forward one file. At the mean time mobile power goes off. What to do? He has friend with mobile phone. He can make use of their phone for call. But, he can’t remember the phone number of doctor. He new that that number is not is the SIM card memory. That is phone memory itself.

In this situation if mobile phone has some short of emergency battery supply than that is of good use. This phone will start in the energy saving mode for a certain fixed short duration. Let say for 1 minute or 2 minutes pre-configured by user. In this mode phone will not initiate the main large display. Only separate small 7 segment LED display mode will initiated. So that it will minimize the power consumption. Mobile will now operate in basic old age mobile phone functionality. It operated only in basic phone mode excluding the multi-media applications.

In another solution to the problem, the mobile phone will initiate the phone OS into the minimal mode with minimal services, such as file system any one communication system (may be (Bluetooth or infrared or wifi) which will consume least energy. In this mode the other neighboring phone can able to access the remote phone contact list/messages/ other files if required with secure authenticity of permission. To achieve this remote phone will have an agent. This agent should be initiated during the phone minimal mode boot up. Through this agent the remote phone will communicate with the normal host phone and remote phone will provide the contact list, message, and files in the form of host phone understandable format.

 

[Q 3] > Please explain which problem this invention to solve. In beginning you mentioned that what to do if battery drains out.. later you are trying to save battery drainage using remote devide.

Ans: This is one of the solutions to the problem. If user got any other mobile phone near by for remote access. If not getting any other mobile phone user can have facility to have emergency battery with monochrome display support.

[Q 4] > What is communication mechanim between 2 mobiles which you assumed in your idea. I am not able to see any straight mechanism available except Samsung Advance mobile tracker feature. Please comment if you are thinking any protocol apart from SMS..

 This is just a proposed protocol that I thought could be one. I really don’t know the Samsung Advanced mobile tracker feature. And this is not in SMS based. This could be in XML PDU over http / tcp.

[Q 5] > I have a basic question. What is the motivation that user not keeping contact information like given in example in phone memory not in SIM.. I am thinking from business angle if user would be chosing new feature at a cost rather than storing in SIM

Ans: As we know removable SIM is mandatory for CDMA phones. Operate based locked phones cant use any other SIM. 

Another question is that one can use Memory card? Ans: If user don’t have any other mobile phone than there is no use of memory card to replace.

[Q 6] Apart from contact and messages, what other data can be done with proposed mechanism with use cases example.

Ans: In the emergency mode of the phone state, phone initiated the basic file system so that one can browse any files and able to send to other mobile if required.
